What You Need Before Starting
Before you start the Lumber Tycoon 2 secret badge route, make sure you have:
- Geck’s main quest finished, so you have reached the purple bag and Glorb stage.
- The same save slot throughout. Some guides report that the Skeleton unlock is tied to the slot you were on.
- A light source. The cave is very dark. A Worklight from Wood R Us costs $80 and is built for dark places like the Maze and the Lost Cave.
- A vehicle (optional). It cuts down the hauling between stops a lot, and its headlights help in the dark.

Updated Post-Nerf Secret Badge Walkthrough
Follow these steps in order to get the Lumber Tycoon 2 secret badge. Skipping the Skeleton is the most common reason the later steps fail.
Step 1: Reach the Cave
Partway through the event the cave entrance was simplified. In the final known version there is a built-in truss and a more direct way into the hidden cave. You no longer need to craft a long plank or blast the original entrance with dynamite first.
Step 2: Talk to the Skeleton
Inside the hidden cave, find the Skeleton and talk to it. Choose “I seek permission”. This is what allows the Glorb steps that follow to work properly.
Do this before touching the Glorb
If you go straight to the Glorb without talking to the Skeleton first, the later steps may not work as expected.
Step 3: Get the Correct Glorb
With the Skeleton done, go back to the purple bag you reached after the main quest. Some guides call it a Bag of Sand variant or a Glorb bag; it is the same step. Take a Glorb from it and find the correct lavender (purple) Glorb to start with.
Step 4: Reach the Final Orange Glorb
Interact with the lavender Glorb. The correct one turns black after your first correct interaction. Keep interacting with it: it cycles through a set sequence of colors. Stop when it reaches its final orange state. Some guides call this final state a locked or starred orange.

The cave is too dark
Bring a Worklight ($80 at Wood R Us) or drive in with your headlights on. On PC, vehicle headlights are usually toggled with L.
